About Us

We are a Kiwi couple who have been following a Keto diet since February 2012. We first came across the diet on Reddit (where there is a subreddit devoted to it), and after reading Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It by Gary Taubes we were convinced that we wanted to give it a try.

As I’m neither a huge meat-lover nor a great cook, I thought it unlikely that Keto would be something I could follow (let alone enjoy) long term. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The diet isn’t just about meat (which is a common misconception), and has resulted in us eating a much greater variety of meals than we did previously.  And in a strange sort of way I have actually enjoyed the cooking part of it.

The best part of it all is that we have both felt great on the diet and have found the food really enjoyable.

The recipes on this site are all things we have tried during our time on Keto. The recipes are a mixed bag – there are some we’ve picked up from others and some we’ve created; there are easy options and complicated ones with lots of scope to go wrong; and there are one-time-only disasters and regular favourites.
