Shredded Beef

We like this shredded beef recipe for the slow-cooker that we found here. It’s simple to make, and the flavour was good enough to eat on its own. We also used this shredded beef in our shredded beef burgers and it was perfect!

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg (2.2. oz) beef shoulder roast
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) of raw onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup (250 ml or 8.5 oz) of chicken or beef stock
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp of paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of chili powder

Recipe:

  1. Put the beef in the slow-cooker, followed by the stock, the onions, and the spices.
  2. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for approximately 8 hours.
  3. Take 2 forks and shred the beef (leaving aside any gristly or yucky bits if you are fussy like us).
  4. Enjoy!

The information below is for a cooked serving of 200 g (7 oz), which is approximately 1/4 of the shredded beef.
